We believe every person who creates content online has influence, including you and that guy who posts pictures of his cat (he has less). Our mission is to accurately measure and understand that influence. This is a momentous task and sometimes we feel like superheroes, but really we're just a bunch of nerds who like to solve problems. In our spare time we compete for who can do the most dips on our tower of power (aka the office gym), go out for drinks, and have Nerf gun fights.
We are kind of crazy in the sense that we think we can process all of Twitter's, FB's, LinkedIn's and the rest of the social web's data and make sense of it all. Every day what we do gets harder because we are adding more people to the index and they are creating more data. The fact that our score is becoming ubiquitous means people (rightfully) expect the scores and data to be accurate and actionable. We need to take giant steps every day. We have no daily script except for not being afraid to run up mountains while being shot at and we wouldn't have it any other way.
If rocking huge data sets and creating the standard of influence sounds like your kind of project, you're in the right place. The Klout HQ is in startup central, the SOMA area in San Francisco.
We're hiring for a number of positions right now. If you don't see one that fits exactly, don't be afraid to apply anyway. We're always looking for smart people who are right for our team.
