As the world’s largest professional network with over 100 million members, LinkedIn is a key destination for doing business across the globe and is integrated into the fabric of the social web. Today we’re excited to launch one of our most requested features: Klout scoring for LinkedIn. Once you add LinkedIn to Klout, you’ll notice a LinkedIn logo will appear on your profile and your influence on the network will be added to your score.

As with every network we measure on Klout, we asses your ability to drive action. Similar to our Facebook and Twitter scores, we analyze who you’re influencing, how you’re influencing them and how much influence they have. Again, we’ve placed a heavy emphasis on quality not quantity – so collecting connections won’t necessarily increase a user’s score.

Q: Who will have LinkedIn integrated into their profile?
A: Everyone who has connected their LinkedIn account to Klout. If you want to add your LinkedIn influence to your score, it’s available on the dashboard.

Q: How will the LinkedIn integration show up on my profile?
A. Your LinkedIn influence will be added to your score and statistics from your LinkedIn profile will appear in the score analysis section.

Q: How will connecting LinkedIn affect my score?
A: Your Klout score will be more accurate. For instance, you may not use Twitter or Facebook that much, but have a rich and engaged network of professional contacts on LinkedIn. There is no risk that your Klout will go down. In most cases users will see a score increase, even for infrequent LinkedIn users. Once you’ve connected LinkedIn your score will be updated in 72 hours or less.
